There are two things Elise hates: bedtime, and having her picture taken! Tonight, she had to endure both. Poor girl.
Tori doesn't hate anything yet, except maybe when Elise touches her eyeballs.

Last night Elise, Tori and I got to Experience our first rodeo. Tori slept almost the whole time. Elise loved it! She kept saying "horsey horsey hee haw!" apparently we need to sing Old MacDonald just a little more. I was out at a friends house tonight with Tori. Elise and Josh stayed home and had some good quality time. First, Josh gave Elise a bath and then a pedicure... Then, Elise gave Josh a pedicure... When I got home Elise was in bed. When I went to tuck Tori into bed she gave me a big grin and let out her first little giggle! What an exciting moment! I then spent a good half hour trying to catch a little giggle on camera. She was uncooperative. She must be learning from her sister. She would only laugh when the camera was off. I'll keep trying! When we put Elise to bed we typically do the same thing every night. We brush her teeth, climb into her bed with her, read three books, sing Old MacDonald had a farm, pray, sing Jesus Loves me, tell her we love her and leave the room. She screams everytime. The screaming gets frustrating but what can you do with a kid who won't fall asleep with anyone else in the room? The time before the screaming is pretty precious though. She is learning the songs we sing quite well. She likes to choose the animals we sing about and make the noises for Old MacDonald. When we sing Jesus loves me we often pause and she will sing the next word. She almost always gets it right. Last night was one of those almost kind of nights. Here is Jesus Loves Me as sung by Elise: Jesus loves me this I... Know... For the... Bible... tells me so Little ones to him belong. They are weak but he is... Strong... Yes Jesus Loves... Bibles... Yes Jesus Loves... Belly Buttons... Yes Jesus Loves... Gee Gee... The Bible tells me so. This is what Elise looked like when she woke up from her afternoon nap:
Those pesky mosquitos sure like to aim for her eyes!
It is no secret that Elise is completely in love with her dad! She has always been a little partial to him over me! He's the first person she talks about every morning and bedtime is just not the same unless he's there to tuck her in.
Lately, it has begun to seem that we might have two little daddy's girls! |
