We said goodbye to all our new friends at Camp Chestermere today and made the long trek home. It's not too long of a drive but with two little ones it takes a bit more time. We stopped in Drumheller to shop for a picnic supper and to play!
But my favourite part of the drive home was when we were stopped on the highway for construction. A man was standing minding his own business holding a "stop" sign, when suddenly two dogs came bounding up to him from a large ranch-like yard. One of the dogs had a tennis ball which was promptly dropped at the man's feet. We watched as the man tried to shoo the dogs away but the dogs just stared at him and nosed the ball. Eventually the man picked up the ball and threw it into the yard. Both the dogs were off running! Moments later, they were back and the process started all over again this time with the man holding a "slow" sign and shooing sternly. We were off on our way, but I can't help but wonder how long this episode continued for. Haha, I bet he never anticipated making two furry friends at work today!
