When I was young I hated tomatoes. I still won't eat a tomato by itself but mixed with almost anything it's becoming a favourite flavour. Elise loves tomatoes. I am very thankful for this as it is easier to prepare and serve than most fruits or vegetables, whatever you prefer to call them. Tomatoes have become a staple dish in our home. This week we were blessed with fresh tomatoes right out of two different gardens! Thank you to the Lowenbergs and Mom and Dad Chalmers! For lunch today we had fresh homemade bruschetta with feta on naan bread and tomato, ham, spinach, onion, green pepper and cheese omlettes. Elise loved every flavour except the egg, which is a new and disappointing development.
We also enjoyed a meal out with Josh's parents in celebration of his 30th birthday on Thursday, a home cooked five course meal on Friday for our own little celebration and a wonderful Chinese style thanksgiving dinner in Swift Current with Josh's parents, Caleb and Nicole and our new baby nephew Samuel! What a sweet little baby boy he is! Elise just loved patting his little head and trying to rock him in his cradle! How exciting to have a new baby cousin!
