We spent the week at a conference in Calgary. Yesterday we decided to spend a few hours at the zoo before heading for home. Tori, who was pretty grumpy and overtired before we got there, loved it! She squealed with delight at every exhibit and embraced the whole experience with enthusiasm. Elise enjoyed it but in a less enthusiastic way. Her favourite experiences were the icy beverage we bought and the playground we spent a few minutes playing on!
We had a big day full of playing! There was a lot of working too, but somehow these girls seem to think that all work is play! The Chalmers family is getting bigger! We are so very excited to be welcoming our newest little one into our family at the end of November. My little girlies have been hard at work this afternoon. Elise has become very helpful at taking the clean cutlery out of the dishwasher and putting it away, and Tori has discovered a new love for sweeping. These two are so sweet! I'm so thankful that I get to call them mine. Elise wished me a happy birthday many times today. One day she will know the difference, but today it didn't matter! I was spoiled today with a hot cup of coffee in my hand and a yummy breakfast before I was even out of bed, little handmade gifts and some quality time with my favourite man! Not far from our thoughts today were our own moms. Our girlies have the best Grandma's little girls could ask for. We don't see them often enough but we sure love and appreciate them. Today eston held it's annual River Trek. It's a 64km run/walk, and although one of these years I might get ambitious enough to participate in a portion of the journey, we are pretty content to hand out water, snacks and encouragement from the sidelines. What a great excuse for a picnic! Tori is currently working on cutting six new teeth. Four of them are molars. Now that they are just beginning to poke through her gums she is miserable! Being outside seems to make the misery a little more bearable for all of us, so we spent much of the morning in the back yard. At lunch, Josh brought home some post-easter treats from a friend at work. Both girls were delighted! |
