These girls are just so teeny tiny! Not unusually so, but tiny nonetheless. Tori had her immunizations today and weighed in at a whopping 17 pounds 10 ounces. And 72.5 cm long. She's trying to be just like her big sister. She's almost walking! She'll take about five steps before she realizes what she's doing then slowly lower herself to the floor and continue on all fours. She's got six teeth and can sign the word more. She hasn't said her first word yet, not that we've heard anyway but she sure knows how to get what she wants! Her favourite activity is still pulling her big sister's hair, but we are hoping she moves on to a new hobby sometime soon! We just love her even on her feverish, slightly grumpy immunization day! We bought Elise a new car seat so that Tori could move into Elise's old one. Our girls just seem to grow so slowly that they have to sit rear facing for an eternity, but grow too tall for their newborn car seats. So, Elise got a new one that is only forward facing but can convert to a booster seat and Tori gets upgraded to Elise's seat which can be either rear or forward facing. Tori has her immunizations this coming Tuesday so we will have some actual measurements to report, but I snuck her into a scale at the doctors office the other day and it's looking like she is approximately 18 pounds, about the same size Elise was at her age. Elise wasn't heavy enough for a forward facing car seat until she was well over two years old! The weather is a little chilly to be installing new car seats so for now we have a temporary living room jungle gym on which to climb, and reinact scenes from the titanic. Elise fell on her head today! She cried for two minutes, assured me she was fine, and moved on. I, on the other hand, nearly panicked when I saw how quickly the lump formed! For the rest of the afternoon she acted annoyed when I asked her about it. "I'm okay mommy! I'm okay!" She stated with all the attitude a two year old can muster. Yikes! Our sweet little Tori turned one today! We celebrated with some friends who came to spend the long weekend with us. It was a simple party with cake and Tea and lots of giggles! Elise was so thrilled to celebrate Tori today! I just can't get over how sweet these two sisters are together! It took Tori two sittings to make a dent in her cake! Once she had a little help from her sister and her friends she quickly caught on to the delicious fun! It has been such a joy to watch this girl grow and embrace all that life has to offer! She is loved so very deeply. Keep up the wiggling and the giggling Tori! We are so delighted to call you ours! When Tori was napping and Josh was walking the dogs we decided to sit down for a cup of tea and a slice if cake. I love these quiet moments! And look at those little curls starting to form in Tori's hair! |
