It is amazing to watch as Elise's attention span starts to get a little longer. She has always loved books but I've noticed lately that she doesn't just play with books anymore, she really looks at them! Inspecting each picture and taking the time to really soak it in! It's fun to watch her learn and also a little exciting that it's becoming a little easier to keep her entertained!

Our power went out just in time for supper tonight. So we got to eat whatever we could scrounge up from the fridge by candle light. Cold pizza and cereal for Josh, apple and cheese quesadilla for Elise, and apple slices and cereal for me! I have a feeling it's gonna be a snacking kind of night!
We arrived home yesterday after spending five days with friends at a cabin 45 minutes from Lethbridge. It was Elise's first time sleeping in a tent. On the first night I woke up and Elise was crawling around checking out the suitcase. There was nothing for her to get into so I just ignored her and went back to sleep. This is what was next to me when I woke up again! She found her way back into the sleeping bag with only two little feet sticking out the top! What a little cutie!
Yesterday was a little crazy! Not only was it Fathers day, and our sixth anniversary but it was also the last day of Sunday School before the summer which meant the kids took the service with a little help from us and then we ran the Sunday School Picnic! It was a long and very busy day but turned out to be a lot of fun despite the rain! And the best thing of all was Uncle Steve showed up just in time to be put to work! He also took Elise to McDonalds while Josh and I got to have a wonderful anniversary dinner at our favorite restaurant in Kindersley! THANK YOU UNCLE STEVE!!!!! And happy belated fathers day Grampa and Grandpa!
This little girl has been motoring around like crazy! I think her new favourite room in the house is the bathroom. We got tired of chasing her so we built this lovely baracade to keep her in the living room. She dosn't seem to mind for a little while... But then she realizes there is no escape!
We made it home! In the ten days we were gone we saw a lot of familiar faces! Both sets of grandparents, Gee Gee (that's my Nana), Uncle Brad, Great Aunt Karen, Great Great Aunt Muriel, and many friends along the way! It was a great trip but as usual it is nice to be home, drinking coffee in my living room, with Elise playing on the floor after a long sleep in our own beds! And look at those big toothy smiles! I think Elise is pretty happy to be enjoying a day free from the dreaded car seat.
