We had a quiet day of restful celebration. We started out with a yummy pancake breakfast followed by a walk around the neighbourhood. We want to church, ate lunch, Elise and Tori napped, then we headed over to a friends house for cappuccinos and a lovely light supper. It was a good day! She's two, and every bit as wonderful as she was when she was one!
Here is a conversation I had with Elise last Sunday: Me: Elise, who would you like to invite to your birthday party? Elise: Judy. Me: okay! Should we invite crystal too? Elise: no! Judy! Me: don't you want to invite more people? Elise: no, Judy. So, on Monday Elise, Tori, and I walked over to Eston College to deliver an invitation to Judy. Here's what it looked like... Elise then proceeded to talk about her Judy party every day! All week, whenever we mentioned Elise's birthday party she quickly corrected us. It was a Judy Party! We snuck a few other guests into the back yard and celebrated with hot dogs, chips, punch, watermelon (brought by Judy) a delicious pasta salad (brought by Crystal, who managed to get invited despite Elise's protest) and cake! Here are some pictures from the party: Dear Elise, Being one has had it's ups and downs for you, but we are thankful for way more ups than downs! here are a few of your favourite things: Favourite foods -"hot chicken," rice, peas, oatmeal, cookies, chocolate, and oranges Favourite TV show- Blues Clues Favourite song - Who Let the Dogs Out by the Baha Men Favourite Friends - Zion, Malachi, Courtney, and Judy. Favourite book - In a People House by Theo LeSieg Favourite activity- cookin' and cleanin' Favourite animals - sheep, dogs, and kitties Favourite colour - blue Oh what fun having a one year old has been! We've tried to capture it well, even though you hate having your picture taken and you scream "no! Off!" every time. I think we've done a pretty good job. I look forward to new memories, but hope that as time continues to pass, these memories will never fade. I love you my sweet, determined, bouncy little Lee Lee! I am sure proud to be your mama and am always thankful for every moment I get to spend with you! Love, Your biggest fan - Mom In an attempt to win free diapers for a year we entered Tori into a very important baby contest with Shoppers Drugmart. Click on the link below and vote for Tori! You can vote for as many babies as you want but you can only vote for each one once. It was Goga's birthday yesterday so after supper we baked a quick cake, whipped up some icing, and plunked a single candle on top. She didn't get to taste it but it was fun to celebrate with her looking in through our ipad. Our party was cut short by a pretty bad case of diaper rash and a lot of shouting about poop! Oh well, that's life with a soon to be two year old. Tori had her 4 month immunizations today. I think Elise found it harder than Tori did! It must be pretty scary watching your baby sister get poked with needles. She was pretty happy to help kiss Tori better though. This beautiful girl now weighs 13 lbs 14 oz. That puts her just below the 50th percentile. That's right around where Elise was sitting at 4 months. By 6 months Elise was in the 3rd percentile. We will see if Tori follows suit. height is a totally different story! Tori is a whopping 25 1/4 inches tall. That puts her around the 75th percentile. Elise was exactly 50th percentile for height at 4 months. It sure is fun watching these girlies grow! Uncle Steve and Auntie Lisa were here this weekend which was the perfect occasion to pull the tricycle they bought Elise out of the shed and take to the streets. Her legs are almost long enough but the coordination just isn't there yet. She loves it! We spent the day window watching and lounging around! Thankful the ground is dry outside. Thinking about friends in Alberta who have been evacuated from flooded homes! What a way to spend the first day of summer. We arrived home last night from a little vacation to Regina and Moose Jaw. We had a great time visiting with friends we see too rarely and celebrating with a friend on her wedding day! It was also a weekend crammed with special days, some of which I remembered, most of which I forgot! I remembered Fathers Day on the 16th but forgot my brothers birthday! We also neglected to Call Josh's Dad! Josh remembered it was our anniversary on the 17th. I did not! It was also my parents anniversary which I'm sure I would have remembered had I remembered my own! Yikes! Happy belated everything to everyone! Here's Tori being just over Four Months old: We came home to a Thunder storm that lasted much of the night and an almost two year old with a fever! I got to spend much of the night sitting up with Elise dabbing her forehead with cold cloths and giving her Tylenol. Her fever is still 102 this morning! Needless to say, it's a very slow and coffee filled morning! Koda doesn't like Elise's hands anywhere near her tail (or any other part of her for that matter,) but she is willing to make an exception for Tori! |
