Elise has gotten big enough to climb up on our super low furniture! She doesn't make it every time, but when she does she lays down and smiles at me. She sure is proud of herself!

This morning Josh got up with Elise and did my usual morning routine! He fed her, changed her and wrestled her into this pretty little dress! I got to do his usual jobs of taking care of the dogs and making coffee. We were both up fairly early but it was sure nice to have a change in routine! I'm not sure Josh enjoyed it as much as I did! Ha ha two big dogs are a lot less work than one little girl!
This morning Elise took her own skirt off for the first time! Yikes, I'm wondering how long it will be before she learns how to remove the diaper!
She finally made it home safe and sound! I know she wasn't gone long but I sure thought about her a lot! She sure gave me a big smile when she came home. That was it though! No shouts of joy or bursts of emotion just a smile. I'm pretty sure she had a wonderful vacation because she was pretty content to stay in Grandpa's arms! I guess I was hoping for fireworks but hey at least I got a smile!
What could it be? Last night Elise went for her first little vacation without Mom and Dad! She is spending two nights in Swift Current on Vacation with Grandma and Grandpa of the North visiting Uncle Caleb and Auntie Nikki! It is sure quiet around here! I'm enjoying the opportunity to get some much needed post spring cleaning done and a little bit of sewing as well! I sure miss my little side kick though! Can't imagine life without her in it!
We just can't seem to keep this girl on her bum in the tub these days! Sure we can force her but it just seems to break her little heart! She has also been acting terrified of random objects and noises! We dare not let her anywhere near a squeaky toy or we have a little screamer scrambling into our arms! Poor little thing! It is very cute I must admit!
We were at camp this past week with Grandma and Grandpa of the North so we had another little birthday celebration complete with birthday hats and a super cute little butterfly outfit! It was such a hot week! Too hot for a week at camp of you ask me! But this was no ordinary camp experience. This was, stay in a nice cool basement with couches and toys kind of camp experience! Ahhh, how spoiled are we! I can't imagine how little sleep we all would have gotten had we been in a toasty cabin with a wee one! Josh and I even got to spend an afternoon canoeing, splashing and swimming down the river! Thanks to Grandma for taking such good care of our little girl while we played!
It's hard to believe that it has been over a year since this little girl made her appearance! When I look at pictures of her fist days it's hard to believe I'm looking at the same girl who greets me with smiles and giggles (almost) every morning and embraces everyday with great enthusiasm and wonder! It dosen't matter what she is up to chasing dogs around the house, filling any box or container she can find with toys, greeting daddy with shouts of joy or tasting just about anything she can get her hands on, it is remarkable to think how much she has changed our lives and continued to make each day a little brighter as she grows!
On Sunday we celebrated the marriage of my brother Steve and Sister in law Lisa! Elise had a wonderful time playing with the balloons.
